MRMC Summer Celebration Float June 26 2015. The theme was "Footsteps thru time", so Rachel from Medical Records came up with the great idea of "Caring for all ages thru the ages". For the footprints we traced the employee's footprints in assorted color paper, and each employee signed their name to show their participation in healthcare, and the impact the facility has for the community. DJ and Shirley helped build the float. Jeff from maintenance pulled the float with his sharp looking pickup, and Vima from laundry helped throw candy. Bobby, Director of Revenue donated the vast quantities of candy that Vima and I were unable to get rid of during the parade due to the overwhelming amount!

Missouri River Medical Center Introduces New Health Navigator to Answer Questions on the Affordable Care Act.

Missouri River Medical Center has recently trained a “health navigator” who will be available to answer questions on the Affordable Care Act and help uninsured community members sign up for new insurance plans.

Navigators are individuals who have undergone extensive training on the Affordable Care Act and how to educate the public on new health care plans.  With assistance from a federal grant, the MRMC navigator was trained to offer in-person assistance to anyone in the region who needs to sign up for health insurance. Navigators also assist the public in preparing applications for insurance and establishing eligibly for certain new plans.

Navigator services are offered free of charge.

“We just want to get the word out that we are here to help people pick the healthcare plan that works best for themselves and their families,” said the new Chouteau County navigator, Star Taylor. “There are a lot of quality, affordable health insurance plans available and my job as a health navigator is to answer questions from the folks here in Chouteau County.”

November 15th marked the opening of the Health Insurance Marketplace where Montanans can compare and sign up for certain affordable, private insurance options.  Under the Affordable Care Act, many uninsured Montanans qualify for special tax credits and lower premiums that make health insurance more affordable.

For more information or to schedule a time to meet with the MRMC navigator, please call 406-622-6165 for an appointment or visit MRMC at 1501 Saint Charles between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm.

March 30, 2012 - National Doctors Day

The first Doctor's Day observance was March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia.  Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians. This first observance included the mailing greeting cards and placing flowers on graves of deceased doctors. The red carnation is commonly used as the symbolic flower for National Doctor's Day.

On March 30, 1958, a Resolution Commemorating Doctors' Day was adopted by the United States House of Representatives. In 1990, legislation was introduced in the House and Senate to establish a national Doctor's Day. Following overwhelming approval by the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, on October 30, 1990, President George Bush signed S.J. RES. #366 (which became Public Law 101-473) designating March 30th as "National Doctor's Day."
